Defiantly not the best place to go if you are in a mood for some fresh high quality sushi. I decided to visit this place while being on vacation. The sushi is pretty much overpriced for no reason. The food they serve is quiet dull in my opinion. The tuna was pretty chewy and I didn't like that. The way they cut their meat also got me disappointed. The soup I ordered from there was the most tasteless thing I ever tried. The service itself is quiet slow but the staff was pretty friendly. A lot of improvements have to be made in order for me to come back there but for now I suggest you avoid this place for your convenience.

Terrible, not even somewhat fresh. Horrible service, and they even ask for tip. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Couldn't even sit down to eat at this place. Smelled like old fish inside a moderately clean bathroom. Check out Rice Asian House down the street instead, much higher quality food.

WARNING!! WARNING!! ignore these other fake reviews. I live in Sunny Isles and people order from this restaurant because it is the only Sushi delivery. Not only is the sushi low quality and over priced, but what drove me to write this review is this place that never even delivered the food. After 2 hours and several calls I just gave up.. I ended up driving over to Sushi Now- MUUUUCHH better. I only wish Sushi Now was in Sunny Isles...

One of the worst sushi of my life!! Sunny isles deserves way better...would not recommend anyone to take the time to try it

Delivery: love it! The food arrived fast and the it was delicious! The only bad thing about it is that they don't have sake at the beverage menu!

This is a small out of the way Sushi place but what a hidden gem it is. Service is good, the guys preparing the Sushi are nice/ funny, and take pride in their "creations". Lot's of customers drive to Deerfield just for their Diablo roll! You are seated and the server is with you immediately, and food comes out fast. Take-Out, Delivery, or Eat in. Don't let this little Sushi place fool you, there's great things to try in there.

I have lived in FL for a year now, and out of all the sushi joints I've checked out, this one in Sunny Isles has been the best. Clean restaurant, fresh fish, good variety. Prices are very decent. Despite other reviews, i have always had fresh fish, and quick service.

Excellent restaurant, great atmosphere and the sushi was very good. My favorite pink lady and the chef's creation 305. Awesome!! Try it !! Great food and good prices!

So from the outside this place looks like a hole-in-the-wall and to tell the truth--it is. But the sush is great and there are so many rolls to choose from. There must be at least a hundred. While many are similar they are all good. Also, try the Jellyfish salad. It is soo good! Probably the reason why I'm giving this place four stars. I didn't try any of the entrees but I heard they are pretty good. Also, you really can't beat the prices here. The service is a little slow but for the prices and the quality of food, it's definetly worth the money. This is one of my new favorite sushi restaurants in town when I am just looking for a casual meal.

I am the regular customer in this restaurant. I like the food and the price was acceptable. because regular customer get 15 % off. And the service is good. But i haven't been there for long time because the owner's kids always crying and running there. I couldn't enjoy my meal over there.

I walked into this restaurant on a whim a couple of days ago while on vacation. The location is great since it was right across from my hotel. Looks like a hole in the wall when I first entered but the inside was cute and fit for maybe a nice first date. Anyways, the food was good. I really liked their pink lady roll. It is different from the sushi I have had before since it doesn't use seaweed to wrap the ingredients, instead, they use rice paper. Also, their sashimi is ok since I did not experience any fishy taste afterwards. A lot of sushi places have a fishy aftertaste when eating sashimi. I guess that means this place has some fresh fish. The only downside of this place is if you eat outside. The first time I ate at this place, I ate outside which was a bad idea. There was so many bugs outside that I had to move inside half way through. I'm sure it was just probably because of summer. Anyways, I recommend this place for its quirkiness and uniqueness as well as the convenience of location. Overall a great experience!

Definitely not the best place I've eaten in! To make it worse, it is way overpriced! I placed a pick-up order online and, in the instructions box, asked to have the white rice replaced with brown rice. I also paid online to speed-up the pick-up process. The next day, I noticed my credit card was charged twice. I thought it was a mistake and called to check. I was then told that I was charged the second time for the brown rice! I have never seen anything like that! Nowhere during the order process did it say that there would be additional charge. I even called the restaurant, after I placed the order, to make sure that they saw the request, and was not told about the extra charge either. How desperate must they be for business if they have to charge me $3 to replace white rice with brown? I am never eating there again!!!

Service is pretty lame - and they had the nerve to keep all change when I paid my $40 tab with $50 Cash. I Asked for change and they only brought back $5. Can i decide what I tip? I intended to tip 20% but I think they profilesld me and took out their cut without asking me . Also, the food was mediocre. Would help if the staff communicated better. Never returning. I'm very offended.

Amazing sushi!!! I've been coming here for years and the rolls here are ridiculous. I don't understand people ordering same old California roll over and over... Try the Cajun Roll, Pink Lady Roll, Pacific Roll, Harley Roll, Tequila Roll. Guaranteed, you never tried anything like this at your regular bla sushi spot.

Do not waste your time going to this establishment. What they call food is tasteless and not worth a penny. I ordered their Dinner Special "Honey Chicken Wing "and ended up throwing it away...I ended up going to Pei Wei on Biscayne Blvd.

This is not a good place for sushi! The Thai Tom Ka Gai soup had a horrible flavor and the chicken used was not nice cuts. The soup also didn't have the galanga flavor, which is a main ingredient. The worst part was the tuna used in the rolls (we ordered two different rolls). The chef does not remove the fat and it was tough and chewy. Raw tuna should never be chewy it was gross! I would never go back and would not recommend this place to anyone. The only good thing was the server, she was attentive and helpful, but that's not the number one reason to go to a restaurant.

Tempura good. Sushi rolls quite good. Cajun roll was great. Overall not the best sushi ever, but lots of options. Pleasant service. Decor and ambiance not great... Loud with kids yelling. Worth a return visit though.

The Tom Yam soup was tasteless. We had a curry Roll that had no identifiable flavors. The pacific roll was pathetic. The worst was a salad called Yom Talay: a mix of boiled shrimp, mussels and salmon. It was absolutely bland to the point that after the first taste I stop my lunch and requested the check. In addition we were the only table in the restaurant at 2:30 in the afternoon and it took 10 minutes to get the waiter to request the check. Publix sushi is better than Sumo

The spicy tuna is a little stingy on the tuna, cause they shred it. But the Pink Lady sushi was to die for! It totally made up for the tuna. Guess you have to order the right plate. Tuna Sashimi was great too. We didn't go for the early bird, but look's like they have some great specials on the chalk board!

I will only give 3 stars because I've never been to the restaurant. I've only ordered delivery & it's always the same dish; Mongolian beef. The delivery is always quick & good customer service. Mongolian beef is my favorite asian dish so it's what I get at all asian places. I am a little disappointed that it isn't traditionally made w onions & scallion (has every other vegetable but) but it is very tasty in it's unique way.

This one of those places that if you blink you'll miss it. They do have a great selection of rolls and good menu for chinese and thai food. So you have plenty of options. Service was good, nice outdoor seating and quality of the food.

I gotta be honest. When I first walked in I was rather disappointed to see their menu, a sushi bar that serves Chinese and Thai food. Not the best combo of cuisines in my opinion. Just be good at one thing, and not everything. So I was skeptical about how good their sushi/sashimi/Japanese dishes would turn out. I was too hungry to leave and find another place, so I braved the unknown with my mom, who is a huge Japanese food fan. She knows her stuff. I gotta give it to them, from the FREE bottomless hot sake for the ladies, to the fresh and bountiful sashimi selection, we were quite impressed. And yes, the bill was also something look forward to, because the price is really good for what we ordered. We only had the spider hand roll, 2 orders of ikura and the large customized order of sashimi. I would definitely go back here when we come visit again in the future.

I'm assuming Sumo Sushi Bar is the same as the Sumo Shushi Bar. Either way, this is a serviceable neighborhood sushi joint. The only items that we thought were above average were the soups. Otherwise, everything was tasty and the price was right. Can't speak on the Chinese or Thai menus as we ordered solely from the Japanese. Definitely not worth traveling to. I forgot to mention Wed is ladies night! Women get free Sake. Stinks for me but the wife loves it. So let me rephrase the above. Definitely not worth traveling to...unless you are a woman, and it's Wednesday, and you like Sake.

The food is good but OMG the service is awful and could not be slower or more disorganized.

Too many items to choose from on the menu. I dont like to make critical important decisions when I'm dining. But despite what others have written about the lack of freshness, this would be an IDEAL place for dumpster diving!

Worst sushi experience ever!!! Don't waste your time or your money. My husband and I felt sick after eating here.
